
Lakeside Park, also known as Lakeside International Raceway, is a historic motor racing circuit located at Kurwongbah, north of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. It opened in 1961 and became known as the “spiritual home” of Queensland motorsport. The circuit sits beside Lake Kurwongbah and has a classic, old-school character. The track is known for its fast, flowing layout, narrow sections, and challenging corners that reward commitment and precision. Lakeside has hosted major events such as the Australian Grand Prix, the Australian Touring Car Championship, Tasman Series races, superbikes, and sports car events. Many famous drivers raced there, including Jack Brabham, Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill, and Dick Johnson. After closing in 2001, the circuit reopened in 2008 and remains an important part of Australian motorsport history.
